Six Online Legal Tools That You Shouldn't Ignore

getting my affiars in order online tools Nov 30, 2023

If you are in a position where you are saving up money to see an attorney, or you cannot afford an attorney, or you just don't want to deal with an attorney, I want to show you that it is possible that you can do this yourself online, if you have a simple estate.

Remember, though, if you have a complicated estate, by all means seek legal help.

I'm not a lawyer or giving legal advice. But what I'm saying is that this is something that with the proper tools, you can do by yourself.

So many people are terrified to do it and they refuse to do it because thy are afraid they are going to do it wrong. So they do nothing.

Let's think about that for a minute.

If you do absolutely nothing your heirs get no protection whatsoever. Your children could end up in foster care, your pets in a shelter and your partner could lose your home because you have not designated what to do in your absence.

You can use online tools, which make it unbelievably easy, and they make it super clear and simple. You can be done in fifteen minutes! Fifteen minutes and you have provided protection for your family. These tools give you access to legal advice to help you decide what to do.

Again, you can use this as a placeholder, while you are saving up to see an attorney. A couple hundred dollars versus a couple of thousand dollars could give you a layer of protection while you are waiting. Not to mention, you will have a greater understanding and can speak more intelligently with your attorney when you do meet together.

And, with these tools, you can change whatever you create. You can change it as many times as you want! Every day if that's what you want.

I want to show you how easy it is. Go to the website, ONLINEWILLMAKERS.COM and look at the options to select Trust makers.

This website has all the top ten companies that online users love. You can find out who these companies are; the ratings will change as consumers evaluate them and rank them.

I picked my favorites and have different reasons for each one. They provide not only Wills, but Trusts as well. And they are not scary at all.

NOLO.COM is a DIY extravaganza! They provide so many options for solving any kind of legal issue you may have. They provide Wills and Trusts, and address different legal needs. They have forms, ebooks, blogs, and a library of information to answer all your questions. It is super useful and super versatile for whatever your needs may be.

TRUSTANDWILL.COM is my favorite for ease of use and for understanding what is happening. It is so simple. Just for fun, I want to describe how easy this is. If you go to TRUSTANDWILL.COM you see that estate planning is made easy. Click on Get Started. Then Click on Create an Estate Plan. You can create a plan for you, for your parents, your grandparents. This is something you can do at home in whatever time of day you have available in fifteen to twenty minutes. They provide guardianship forms starting at just $39. You can purchase a will starting at $159 or a trust starting at $599. It's so easy. On the website a window will pop up with little buttons to click on. For instance, What is your marital status? click on single, married, or divorced. Do you want to nominate guardians for children? Click on yes or no. How would you like to distribute your assets. Click on your choice, half to spouse, half to kids. This is so doable and so easy. Click and click and click!

USLEGALFORMS.COM is again similar to NOLO in that it has forms and documents. It's a super DIY site. If you already feel really comfortable and confident that you can handle it, they have everything you need.

We have all heard of LEGALZOOM.COM on TV and the radio. They make it very easy and accessible and so many people choose them. They have a great reputation among everyday people. Their products help you with your business or personal interests, such as an Estate Plan, Last Will and Testament, Living Trust, POA, Intellectual Property.

I want to describe the website: when scrolling down the pages you can see that you can purchase products individually or you can bundle them. You can choose which solution best suits your needs. A living trust will give your family clarity and peace of mind. It starts at $279 and is super easy.

WILLING.COM is so easy to use and very inexpensive. For just $69 you can craft a will. They have an estate planning package to create Last Will and Testament, Living Will, POA, Revocable Living Trust and Transferrable deed. You click and watch videos. Everything is explained to you and it is not scary.

I wanted you to see that there are so many different options and I want to take the fear factor out of this for you. It doesn't have to be terrifying.

If you want to talk to an attorney, great. But what if you don't have the money and are saving up?

Remember, something is better than nothing. I know a beautiful lady who was killed and her children went back to the abusive ex-husband they had previously escaped. That happened because she had no plan in place and nothing written down.

Something is better than nothing.

It doesn't have to be permanent. With some of these resources, you have unlimited updates for a year. You could make updates every single day for 365 days if you wanted to.

It is so easy to change these, so whatever you decide, it doesn't have to be permanent. What is the best choice today? Maybe tomorrow you might have a better choice, and you can change it then.

Some people have told me that all their choices are bad. I say, pick the least bad choice today and get it done. Do something. You can see how easy this is.

If you want legal help, it is available on so many of these websites. Dive right in and do this right away. Get something started.
